CONGRATULATIONS!

Congratulations on your decision to follow Jesus Christ! The Word of God—the Bible—says the angels in heaven sang with great joy when you chose to follow Him (Luke 15:10).

Now, the important thing is getting to know Jesus personally. Make Him part of your daily life! The Bible tells us that "By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life" (2 Peter 1:3).

If one of our team members could sit down with you face to face, we would tell you this: God has promised you a fulfilling, abundant life (John 10:10). But you won't know that life unless you know Christ Himself and learn to trust, follow, and live for Him daily. Here's how you can begin to do that.

1. Enjoy the Bible daily. It may have been years since you picked up your Bible. Maybe you never have. Whatever the case, I encourage you to pick it up and start reading. Make it part of your daily routine. A good place to begin is with the Gospel of John and the book of Proverbs. They are two of my favorite books – and so practical for daily living.

2. Talk to God daily. As you read the Bible, talk with God about your questions, struggles, fears and joys. Then listen – see how God speaks to your heart. Ask for what you need and thank Him for what He has done and will do in your life.

3. Attend a local church. You have several great churches in your area. There is no right or wrong one to choose – as long as they preach from the Word of God and demonstrate His love. When you find the church that touches your heart, meet with one of the pastors and tell him that you have recently committed your life to Christ. Not only will he be encouraged, he will help you get plugged in to a great group of people who can continue to encourage you in your faith.

4. Finally, find daily biblical encouragement through websites, books, radio stations, and friends. There are many great resources out there, including this website. Take time to dig around, and don't forget to check out our online resources here.

Again, Congratulations on your decision! I am thrilled to welcome you into the family of Christ.
